My Story
I began earning a living through artworking, design, and print back in 1996. At the time, I realised I was constantly working for friends and associates — and that I could actually turn this into a career. So, Impact Design was born.
I was fortunate to be taken under the wing of two respected local print companies — Premier Print in Warminster and Peppercorn Print in Westbury. The mentorship, support, and industry knowledge I gained from both were absolutely invaluable and set the foundation for everything that followed.
Not long after, I connected with what would become my greatest client — Renrod Motor Group (now Platinum Motor Group). Our relationship spanned two decades, and their words still mean a lot to me:
“Our group began working with Impact Design in 1997. From humble beginnings, the work grew to encompass the production of our entire advertising and marketing thrust for our multi-million pound turnover company…
The design work undertaken by Impact is diverse and multi-faceted including weekly press advertising, logos, posters, brochures, folders, presentations, leaflets, magazines, forms, signs, banners and website campaign offers.
We developed an excellent ongoing working relationship with the Impact Design team and find them to be creative, reliable, accurate, knowledgeable, efficient, approachable and friendly, which is ideal for the needs of our business.”
— Jeremy Cuff, Managing Director, Platinum Motor Group Ltd
This amazing partnership came to a close in 2017 as the automotive industry shifted towards national agencies offering full-service solutions. But after 20 incredible years, it felt like a good time to embrace change.
The Trail Ahead
A couple of years later, I followed my passion for mountain biking, joining the trail crew at Wind Hill Bike Park, and soon becoming Site Manager. It was a fantastic five-and-a-half-year chapter — hands-on, outdoors, and physically rewarding.
That chapter ended suddenly after a serious accident in the park left me with a broken neck and back. Fortunately, I made a full recovery. The experience gave me clarity, and I felt the pull back to what I know and love: design and print.
Where I Am Now
I spent a year at Frome Printworks, diving back into the nuts and bolts of the trade — artworking, imposing, printing, finishing, and more. It was a great reintroduction to the tools and techniques, but I knew my real strength was in working independently.
So here I am — back in my own space, collaborating with new clients, building fresh relationships, and enjoying the creative process more than ever.
If you think I might be the right fit for your next project, I’d love to hear from you.
